Installing Relab LX480 Essential

This guide is made for people installing and using the plugins from Focusrite's Hitmaker Expansion– a set of plugins included with your Focusrite interface.

This section teaches you how to install Relab LX480 step-by-step. You can download all the Hitmaker Expansion plugins from your Focusrite account, but it's often best to install them one by one.

To install any plugin from the Hitmaker Expansion, you must have already registered your Focusrite device. For more information, and steps on how to register your Focusrite interface, go to: getstarted.focusrite.com.

I've never installed a Relab plugin before

To install Relab LX480:

  1. Go to: id.focusritegroup.com/my-software.

    1. If you're prompted, log in with your Focusrite account.

  2. Click on My Software at the top of the page.

  3. Scroll down until you see Relab LX480.

  4. Click View details.

  5. Click Show me my code to reveal your unique activation code.

  6. Click the Copy button to the right, to copy the code.

  7. Go to the Relab website here:

  8. Click Yes! I Want To Claim My Offer.

  9. Click Promo Code? and Paste the code you copied from your Focusrite account.

  10. Click Apply. The Total will drop to $0.00.

  11. Enter your email address to create a Relab account and click Next step.

  12. If you already have an iLok account (look in your computer's applications folder to find iLok License Manager if you're not sure) click I already have an iLok account.

    If you do not have an iLok account, enter a password and click Create Account.

  13. Click Review Order.

    At this point the total should be $0.00, you do not need to enter any card details.

  14. Read the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and tick the box if you agree.

  15. Click Place Order.

  16. Scroll down and click No thanks, I'm happy with the Essentials version– you can also read about the paid upgrade offer to the very good Relab LX480 PRO plugin, but for the free included plugin, just scroll down.

  17. Go to the website:

    shop.relabdevelopment.com/dashboard/downloads

    This takes you to the Downloads section of your Relab account.

  18. Click the Link on the far-right-hand side to download the correct version of the plugin for your computer, either the Windows Download or macOS Download.

  19. Go to your computer's Downloads folder and run the downloaded file.

  20. (Windows only) Click Yes if you're asked Do you want to allow this app to make chances to your device?.

  21. Go through the installer and follow the instructions to install the plugin.

    After you've completed the installer, move to the next step.

  22. Open iLok License Manager.

    If you don't have iLok License Manager, install it from here.

  23. Find LX480 Essentials in the Product Name list.

  24. Right-click on the row and click Activate.

  25. Select your computer in the pop-up and click Activate.

    Click OK in the Successful Activation pop-up. You can now close iLok License Manager.

Now the installation has finished, and you've activated the plugin, you can close iLok License Manager and start to use Relab LX480 in your DAW. To learn more, move onto the next section.

I have installed a Relab plugin before

To install Relab LX480:

  1. Go to: id.focusritegroup.com/my-software.

  2. Click on My Software at the top of the page.

  5. Click Show me my code to reveal your unique activation code.

  6. Click the Copy button to the right, to copy the code.

  7. Go to the Relab website here:

  8. Click Yes! I Want To Claim My Offer.

  9. Click Promo Code? and Paste the code you copied from your Focusrite account.

  10. Click Apply. The Total will drop to $0.00.

  13. Click Review Order.

  17. Go to the website:

    shop.relabdevelopment.com/dashboard/downloads

    This takes you to the Downloads section of your Relab account.

  18. Click the Link on the far-right-hand side to download the correct version of the plugin for your computer, either the Windows Download or macOS Download.

  19. Go to your computer's Downloads folder and run the downloaded file.

  22. Open iLok License Manager.

    If you don't have iLok License Manager, install it from here.

  23. Find LX480 Essentials in the Product Name list.

  24. Right-click on the row and click Activate.

  25. Select your computer in the pop-up and click Activate.

    Click OK in the Successful Activation pop-up. You can now close iLok License Manager.
