To power on your C8X using mains power:

Connect the power supply to your C8X's power socket.

Connect the USB cable from your C8X to your computer.

Switch the power switch to the on position.
Your ISA is now powered on and ready to use.
Caution
Always turn on your speakers last.
Your ISA 's speaker outputs have anti-thump technology, which reduces the likelihood of hearing pops from your speakers when you turn on your interface. Always turn on your speakers after you have turned on everything else in your recording setup.
If you don't turn on your speakers last, loud pops may damage your speakers, or worse, your hearing.
The ISA C8X comes with four optional push-in silicone feet. Before using your ISA C8X as a desktop interface we recommend you fit the feet to avoid scratching your desk, or the ISA C8X's chassis.
Each silicone foot fits into the corresponding holes in each corner on the ISA C8X's chassis.
If you're rack-mounting your ISA C8X you may not want to add the feet.
Focusrite Control 2 is the software application you use to control your ISA interface.

We occasionally update your ISA C8X's firmware with new features and improvements, to make sure you are getting the most from your ISA. Focusrite Control 2 updates your ISA C8X's firmware.
Focusrite Control 2 allows you to control various features of your ISA from your computer.
Note
Focusrite Control 2 is compatible with most major screen reader software, allowing you to control the features on your ISA with your computer's keyboard.
You can install Focusrite Control 2 on Windows and Mac. To download and install Focusrite Control 2:

Click here to download the latest version of Focusrite Control 2 or:
Go to the Focusrite downloads website:

Find your ISA on the Downloads website.

Download Focusrite Control 2 for your operating system (Windows or Mac).

Open the Downloads folder on your computer and double-click the Focusrite Control 2 installer.

Follow the on-screen instructions to install Focusrite Control 2.

If it’s not already, connect your ISA interface to your computer with the USB cable.

Open Focusrite Control 2 and it detects your automatically.
Note
On Windows, installing Focusrite Control 2 also installs the driver. You can download Focusrite Control 2 at any time, even without registering from downloads.focusrite.com. On macOS, you don't need a driver, you only need to install Focusrite Control 2.
